What is an Ebook Package?

E Books No Comments »

Have you ever purchased or received what is known as an eBook? These are electronic books which can be read on a computer screen or just as easily printed on regular office paper to be read in the more traditional fashion. Ebooks have become a wildly popular way to self-publish, and they are also used by all kinds of businesses and websites as marketing materials.

Most professionals, however, don’t have the time or the skills to write, format, and illustrate an entire book, and so they will hire a specialized writing service to make an eBook package to suit their needs.

A good eBook package will offer a work of at least thirty to fifty pages, including a table of contents, an introduction, and a few chapters. It can also come with custom cover art and even the opportunity to have some additional graphics worked into the text if desired.

The formatting of the work into a useable file is also important because not all computers can open traditional word processing programs. For instance, an eBook may be originally created in the common MS Word program, but it must be converted into the far more universal “PDF” file format in order to be used by a wide range of recipients.

What sorts of topics are covered in eBook packages? You name it! A good ghostwriting service may already be able to provide you with the subject you would like to cover, but if they don’t, they will more than likely be able to craft one to meet your needs. It is important to understand that you will normally be able to take full credit for the authorship if you work with a ghostwriting service, but you should also expect to conduct a few exchanges with them before the work is complete. This will also ensure that you receive the best eBook possible for your needs.

Words You Want is your one stop resource for all of your writing needs. Words You Want offers a variety of services including SEO packages, article directory submission, SEO article writing, ghostwriting, eBook writing, travel writing, equine writing and more.

How Do I Write My Book or E-Book As Quickly As Possible?

E Books No Comments »

In recent past articles, I wrote about “Why Should I Write a Book or Ebook,” “What Should I Write About,” “Who Is My Ideal Reader?,” and “The Cure for a Common Case of Writer’s Block.” Next in this sequence, I wanted to offer some straight tips about how to write that book or ebook. Or basically how do you download your brain onto the page? This is a common issue I find with new writers; they either don’t have the confidence or know-how to tackle the overwhelming idea of writing a book! They have great ideas and they’re experts at what they do, but they’ve never written a book, and they look at it like some kind of scary monster.

Well, I’m here to tell you it’s not! It’s one of the most liberating feelings I know. To sit down at my computer and let my ideas spill out of my head, through my fingers, and onto the screen is exhilarating. If you follow some simple tips, and schedule the time to do this, your book or ebook could be done in less time than you imagine. Recently I held an interview on putting your ideas into an audio or video format. This could take the place of an ebook or book if you feel more comfortable talking into a recording device or filming yourself talking. Another interview I conducted showed you how to talk your book into a recording device and then have it transcribed. This is one of the quickest ways to get your book out of your head. And another interview I did talked about putting your expertise into the form of a tips booklet which could be anywhere from 12 to 24 pages. Your tips are approximately two sentences long, which I think would be pretty simple for most people to do. These are some of the quickest ways to get your ebook or book done.

Now, if you want to go the traditional route, my recipe is this: get your idea clear in your head as to why you want to write, what you want to write about, and who your ideal target is. Then create an outline/table of contents which takes the reader from where they are at the start of your book, to where you want them to be at the end. For example, if they have a problem that your book is a solution to, remind them of their problem at the start of the book, then take them through the steps to a solution as you share your expertise.

Once you have your outline, it’s just a matter of filling in the blanks with existing content you already have, or sitting down and pouring your knowledge onto the pages. Take your website content and past ezines, articles, and blogs and use that to get started. If you set aside two-hour blocks of time as often as you can, you’ll see your book quickly taking shape. Once you get over the initial feeling of overwhelm, you’ll find your rhythm and you’ll produce your book or ebook quickly. You just have to make sure to stay focused and know how to overcome your distractions or challenges. Plan ahead whatever you need—whether it’s an accountability partner or a ghostwriter/editor/coach like myself.

I encourage you to create your book or ebook as an info-product for passive profits! Happy writing!

HOMEWORK: Schedule a 2-hour time slot in the next 2 weeks to sit down and create your table of contents. Then send it to your accountability partner. Also, please contact me with “questions” in the subject line if you’d like me to send you my list of questions that are helpful to ask yourself upon venturing forth with your book writing.

Publish Yourself Online with eBooks

E Books No Comments »

We have all seen those web-pages that offer the one “secret” to making massive amount of money online, generating more traffic then you could ever imagine or some other empty promise that the author could never deliver upon.

For the Internet marketing newbie, most of these products will leave you so confused and misguided that you will never succeed. Most of them are filled with regurgitated information that the author heard from someone else and now trying to pass off as their own, despite the fact that they have never actually done “it,” by producing their own original product.

It goes without saying that many of the products sold for hundreds of dollars are nothing more than elaborate and wordy marketing pitches, that contain little to no information. Their “secret websites” that they recommend you join are ones they either own or are an affiliate of. It’s all smoke and mirrors, and you will never make a dollar using their recommendations, reselling their products, surfing their website or becoming an affiliate of their “system” unless you already know what you are doing, at which point you don’t need them anyway.

Here is a little secret about the Internet Marketing and eBook publishing business. Those that make money produce and promote their own products first, and they do it with passion and flair.

While 95% of the competition is focused entirely on make money or Internet marketing based topics, the best eBook publishers steer clear of these topics to find hidden niches just waiting for their information.  If you are just starting out trying to publish your own product, you should create products that are not based on online and money making topics, but instead ones that have real world application to people’s lives.

So are you likely to make money online selling eBooks? It really depends on how creative and motivated you are to bring your product to market, in addition to what sort of understanding you have of Internet marketing. If you understand what goes into a quality product, how to produce or package it in a form that people want to buy, and then how to get it in front of people, you should do well. If you don’t the probability of selling your product will be low.

A Budget for Publishing your eBook

E Books No Comments »

Publishing your first eBook can literally be done for free, but a budget of $100-$200 for the first year is essential. This estimate assumes you already have a decent computer and a word processing program, along with the ability to convert your work into PDF format, or else you will have to budget more money to obtain these items.

The first thing you should spend money on is hosting and a good domain name. Assuming you pick a host that offers one click website installation, you can even build your site for free and save yourself from having to go and buy a program like Dreamweaver. If you look around long enough, you can usually find anything you need for free and hosting is no exception, but spend the $50-$100 it will cost to take complete control of your site and domain. This is a long-term commitment.

The second item you should budget for is an email marketing subscription. While it may seem silly to sign up and start paying for email marketing without having even a single contact, the fact is modern day email marketing programs have a number of features that will help you build your list, while at the same time automating the sales process.  For example, a free give away with automated email follow up will help you sell more and save time too, more than making up for the costs involved.

Other than hosting and email marketing, everything else you need to buy is a luxury. Don’t believe the hype of Internet Marketers trying to sell you some new widget you don’t need, keep your costs low and make sure every service you spend money on pays for itself, otherwise it is eating into your bottom line.
